Reviews
Good selection of books with customer recommendations tucked underneath the books. The staff were extremely helpful and kind. Good bookstore spot.
I don't even read books and I like this place! So amazingly curated, easy to navigate, and fair prices. The staff was also lovely! Definitely bringing my friends here when they come into town.
The staff here is always so helpful and nice. Just learned that they are dog friendly and take Apple Pay, so they’re on my regular walking route now :)
I had several issues with the items I purchased here for Christmas gifts. Firstly in my pick up order, one of the books was incorrect. So I had to come back to the store another day to exchange it - so it really makes the convenience of online ordering non existent. No apology was offered to me for the mistake on their end.
On top of this, one of the puzzles I bought here to give as a gift was missing a piece. Basically ruining the gift for the person I gave it to.
I love shopping small/local. But let’s be honest, I can get everything here much cheaper on Amazon and now on top of that you’re wasting my time and money on faulty orders. It’s not bad to stop in and browse but I would not recommend for buying gifts and I would personally not go again.
Best indie book store in Chicago! Incredible selection and super friendly staff.
Best part is there well programmed and thoughtful events and book clubs. They are really building an amazing community through their work.
Excellent well stocked book store with a great selection. Can't begin to say enough about how friendly and helpful the staff was. Awesome!
City Lit is genuinely a joy. The curation is excellent and the shelf tags are full of titillating insights. Their philosophy section is small but one of the best-curated collections I’ve seen outside of academic bookstores. Or inside of them, for that matter. E. Jesse’s recommendations are full of enthusiasm and a true boon to anyone exploring a new area of philosophy (including those of us just emerging from our rigid analytic chrysalises).
The bookstore has been open since 2012. I like the mellow atmosphere of the book store. It has over ten genres of books. The book store sells decomposition books and greeting cards as well. City Lit has a lounge area with black leather chairs and fireplace to chill out and read.
People can go on their website, call, or visit in person to order multiple books. The bookstore has a good flow of busyness. I would recommend this bookstore to Logan Square residents.
This is a throwback to when book stores were book stores and not mass merchandisers. Extremely helpful staff, especially Kyle. Great selection of kods books. Highly recommend!
Great little bookstore with a nice selection and helpful staff. Stopped in while waiting for a table at Lula and ended up buying a couple books I'd been eager to read this year!
